Job Description
The Web Developer position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and application integration necessary to support dynamic and scalable web applications. The Web Developer will collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions that meet business and technical requirements.


Responsibilities
  • Support and develop the Facilities Services departmental website and Intranet.
  • Primary focus on the back-end functionality of our website and SharePoint Intranet (server-side logic, database management, and APIs), building interfaces to other systems and creating auto-updated content on pages.
  • Maintain web-based applications to enhance user experience and streamline departmental processes using various programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct issues with the website's code, functionality, and performance, ensuring that our site is both mobile-friendly and fast-loading.
  • Ensure websites are secure, patched, and up-to-date as necessary.
  • Work closely with web designer ensuring the website's functionality, user experience, and performance works seamlessly across various devices (mobile & desktop) and various browsers.
  • Collaborate with other FS teams writing code to create interactive elements, handle data, and ensure website functionality works properly.
  • Monitor website analytics and track SEO progress to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest web development trends and technologies.
  • Provide technical support and training to relevant staff on web-related tools and applications.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience - or an equivalent combination of education experience (ex: 1 year of technical training along with 3 years of relevant experience would satisfy this requirement)
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Proven ability as a web developer or similar role.
    • Skilled with HTML, CSS, Java/JavaScript, and other web development languages.
    • Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
    • Strong skill with responsive design principles and practices.
    • Ability to problem-solve with attention to detail.
    • Developed skill of both working independently and as part of a team.
  • Other Conditions:
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.
